A KINVER photographer has released a collection of his most striking images taken in the Black Country and Worcestershire since the 1950s.

Graham Gough has captured on camera everything from historic events to extreme weather to Royal visits and riots during his lengthy career as a press photographer at newspapers across the Black Country and in Devon.

And to mark more than half a century behind the lens - he has published a selection of his favourite images in a new book ‘The Black Country Album - 50 Years of Events, People and Places’.

The glossy publication, priced £12.99, features a selection of black and white images of people, places and visits by Royalty, politicians and celebrities including Princess Anne, The Queen, Cilla Black, Glenda Jackson, Hugh Grant, Jeffrey Archer and Tony Blair.

The stories behind some of the images are also told in accompanying footnotes.

Graham, aged 73, retired from press photography in 2000 and these days concentrates on landscapes, book illustrations and magazine work. His work is currently on display at Dudley Archives in Coseley.

The new book is available from High Street and online sellers and Graham will be signing copies at Waterstones at Merry Hill on September 15 at 11am.
