ROAD closures in Kingswinford will be in place longer than expected after an unexpected hitch delayed completion of utility works.
The closure of parts of Stallings Lane and Ham Lane was due to be lifted on Sunday (September 2) but will now be in place until the middle of the week after engineers encountered a last minute problem.
The work is being carried out on water supplies and the sewage system and householders are being warned their water may be cut off, although anyone affected will be warned in advance.
Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for transportation, said: “I would like to apologise to all our businesses, residents and visitors for any inconvenience caused as these critical works are undertaken.
”Dudley Council will continue to work in partnership with the utility companies in order to ensure the works are completed as quickly as possible.”
