TV star Adrian Chiles has thrown his support behind a Stourbridge-based charity for children with physical disabilities.

The former Hagley schoolboy took time off from his duties as an ITV sports presenter to pay a visit to a fundraising lunch for the Chris Westwood charity.

The event was organised by QualitySolicitors Talbots who say securing celebrity support was a coup which will help swell charity coffers.

Adrian Chiles said: "A huge part of my soul belongs to the Midlands and to the Stourbridge area in particular where I was lucky to have a problem-free, carefree, happy childhood.

"I'm more than delighted to be able to support a charity that is helping children and young people in this area to cope better with their disabilities and live more fulfilled lives.”

Chris Westwood added: "We raised close to £7,000 for the charity and I am so grateful to all the supporters, raffle prize donors and to Adrian, of course. Not a single penny is used for administration expenses and the monies raised will go towards buying equipment for worthy causes.”
