BOROUGH carers have been invited to an event find out what services are available to support them on Friday (November 29).

Organised by Dudley Council and Healthwatch Dudley, the event will take place at the Insight Carers' Cafe on Pearson Street, Brierley Hill, from10.30am to 2pm.

There will be a number of presentations from local organisations and the chance for people to chat to presenters and have their say.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Councillor David Branwood, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “It’s estimated there are 38,000 carers in Dudley borough. Without them the local authority simply couldn't afford to provide the vital care and support to their friends and relatives.

“As a council we recognise this, and this is why we have a responsibility to ensure carers are informed about the support available to them and to ensure they don't feel unsupported or become isolated.

"We want to engage with our carers and respond to the issues and needs which they identify as important to them.”

People are asked to confirm their attendance in advance by calling Dudley Carers Network on 01384 818723 or sending an email to carers.network@dudley.gov.uk
