DUDLEY’S new archdeacon was officially licensed at a ceremony with a theme of new life for a new year.
Revd Nikki Groarke was introduced to the Diocese of Worcester by Bishop Dr John Inge at at St. Thomas’ Church in Stourbridge on January 5.
At the ceremony the bishop highlighted the miracle of turning water into wine, he said: “I pray that Nikki will reflect Jesus’ transforming light and bring new life – in the manner of Jesus’ miracle – to all those whom her life and ministry touches.”
Worcestershire-born Rev Groarke said: "I am very excited to be coming back to my home county, after ministering in London for the past 13 years.
“The Stepney area has been a richly diverse and intense place in which to serve and learn, but I am now greatly looking forward to exploring the equally diverse territory of North Worcestershire and Dudley.”
