PARISHIONERS from Dudley and Worcestershire will be heading out on a tour of the Holy Land with The Bishop of Worcester, Dr. John Inge.

The Bishop will lead a party of 65 to visit Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee from January 29 to February 5 and the pilgrimage will include worship with local residents so the group can gain an understanding of the challenges faced by communities in that part of the world today.

Bishop John said: “Together, we will walk in the places where Our Lord walked, from the place of his birth to the place of his death and resurrection. We will pray in the places in which Jesus ministered and lived. This is a great opportunity to explore our faith, enlarge our hope, and deepen our love for the Lord.

“It’s also a vivid reminder of the fact that the Christian faith is rooted in both geography and history. God chose the Holy Land as the place he became human, to suffer and to die for us and it was there that Jesus rose again almost exactly two thousand years ago.”
