HALESOWEN History Society is returning next month for its new season.
The society, which meets at the Shenstone Theatre, Halesowen Library on the first Thursday night of the month, has lined up a stellar programme of speakers.
Society secretary Carol Taylor said: "We are all looking forward to our new season of speakers which starts in September."
"Our first meeting will be on Thursday, September 4 at 7.30pm and as usual everyone is welcome and there is a small charge of £1 for non members."
She added: "Our first speakers is the well known local raconteur John Sparry, he will be talking about Interesting Events of 1937
knowing John, it should be a very entertaining evening.
"Looking forward to seeing our members after the summer break, and hopefully some new faces too."
The Halesowen History Society, which was established 36 years ago, also runs annual school project competition which this year was won by Windsor High School.
