CIVIL War skirmishes and Cradley’s contribution to the early armaments industry will be the subject of a local history talk next Thursday (September 25).

Historian Margaret Bradley will give an illustrated talk entitled Cradley and its Vicinity in the English Civil War (1642-1660), covering events in the town and neighbouring areas.

Mrs Bradley said: “Although there were no major battles between Roundheads and Cavaliers in this area there were a number of skirmishes and people engaged in the iron industry benefited economically from providing armaments for both sides.'”

The event, at Overend Methodist Mission, Banners Lane, starts at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
