SPORTY staff and residents at a borough children’s home have raised £750 for Dudley’s White House Cancer Support charity.
Twelve members of staff from Maitland Road Children’s Home in Dudley were joined by three current residents and one former resident to take part in a charity triathlon earlier this month.
The 16 plucky participants took part in a three-mile bike ride and a 1.5mile run at Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge before heading to Dudley Leisure Centre to complete the challenge with a 0.5 mile swim.
Councillor Tim Crumpton, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “This was a really positive fundraiser that I am sure the children really enjoyed. I congratulate all of the children and the staff who took part and raised hundreds of pounds for such a good charity.”
