A GRANDMOTHER and her 18-month-old granddaughter were both injured after being run over in Blackheath

Lorraine Clulow and Lottie Clulow-Field were crossing Blackheath High Street when a green BMW driven by a woman crashed into them.

The driver, a woman believed to be in her 60s, drove off without leaving her details and now police are appealing for information to track her down.

A West Midlands spokesman said: "Police are investigating after a road traffic collision in Rowley Regis on Monday 22 September.

“A 51-year-old pedestrian and her two-year-old grandchild were struck by a car on the High Street at just after 10am.

“They both suffered fractures to their shoulders.”

He added: “The driver of the car stopped at the scene to check the pedestrians were OK before leaving without giving her details.

“Enquiries are on-going to trace this woman, who is described as around 60-years-old with white hair and glasses.

“She was driving a green ‘old style’ BMW. Anyone with information should call police on 101."

The tot's mother Gemma Clulow-Field had just jetted off to Portugal for her honeymoon when the incident happened. She returned on the same day and has been trying to track down the driver herself.

She said: “We've tried everything we can so far, every CCTV we have tried has not worked or the ones we have seen the driver did not exit that way.

“It is very frustrating now.”

Friends of the family used social media to try and find the female driver involved and raise awareness.

Julie Sadler said: “If it was a boy racer and knocked over an old dear then it would have been different.

“I just hope that she gets caught and has the same treatment of than if a young lad had done this.”
