ABOUT 50 angry villagers demanded enforcement action against a Hunnington landowner accused of “rural vandalism” at a special meeting of the parish council.

A Bromsgrove District Council enforcement officer fielded questions and comments from residents who demanded action over unauthorised work which has been undertaken on private land in Bromsgrove Road.

A planning application by landowner Richard McIntosh for an equestrian centre was withdrawn in June, after a deluge of objections to the proposal.

Neighbours also complained about work already undertaken without permission, which included clearing trees and digging a large hole ready for landfill.

The council has been considering a case for enforcement action to make him restore the site since the application was withdrawn and Bromsgrove Road resident Tony Durrell said people were “angry” that little had been done to resolve the situation.

He said they were told at the extraordinary general meeting of Hunnington Parish Council the enforcement case had to be “watertight” before an order could be executed.

Mr Durrell added the council was unaware Mr McIntosh was moving hardcore onto the site to make hard standing for vehicles.
