A REWARD of £2,000 is being offered by crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers for information concerning the attempted murder of a chip shop manager in Quinton.

The 51-year-old victim was violently assaulted at 3.20pm on Friday, November 7 at Simply Fish and Chips, Hagley Road West.

CCTV footage shows the suspect walking in to the shop and ordering some food before a dispute appears to take place over the order and he leaves, damaging the door in the process.

The victim was assaulted as he tried to stop the man. He was stabbed several times to the body and left with multiple injuries.

West Midlands Police is treating the incident as attempted murder but have been unable to track down the suspect, who fled the scene along Hagley Road West towards Birmingham

The suspect is described as mixed race. He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms and a black beanie hat at the time of the incident.

Pauline Hadley, Crimestoppers West Midlands regional manager, said: “This is an appalling attack which left an innocent chip shop worker with horrific injuries.

“We want to ensure whoever is responsible for this appalling crime is brought to justice."

“We don’t want to know who you are, just what you know.”
