A HUNT has been launched to find Sandwell’s unsung heroes who make a difference to their community.
Nominations for the 2015 Sandwell Volunteer Awards have been opened to recognise the hard work of people across the borough.
Judges are looking for winners of eight categories – environmental corporate, health and social, community organisation, young volunteer, trustee volunteer, volunteer co-ordinator and long service volunteer.
Jean Taylor, chief executive at Sandwell’s Volunteer Centre, said: “It’s a fantastic event and showcases the best of our volunteering groups and people who really put themselves out there to help in the community.
“It’s our way of saying thank you to all worthy volunteers and the 2015 awards are now open for nominations.”
The deadline for nominations is Friday 10 April ahead of the June ceremony.
