A PAIR of staff members from a Stourbridge car dealership have celebrated an impressive 80 years of service between them.

Nick Hartin, aged 56, and Paul Cox, aged 64, both joined Evans Halshaw, based in Hagley Road, in August 1974 starting their careers as apprentices.

Since then, they have taken on a variety of different roles before settling as experts in their favoured areas.

Kingswinford resident Paul, who found his forte in the parts department as a supervisor, said: “The main thing for me is the people I work with and our customers.

“Everyone has played a huge part in making my time here so memorable and enjoyable, and I cannot wait to see what happens next for both the dealership and the team.”

While Nick, of Stourbridge, has worked his way up through the ranks to become the Service Advisor for the dealership.

He said: “Evans Halshaw is a fantastic brand to work for and I can only thank everyone at the dealership for their hard work over the past 40 years.

“Not one day is the same and I am looking forward to seeing where the next journey takes us all.

“Here’s to the next few years.”

To celebrate their landmark service, both Paul and Nick were awarded with £100 vouchers for their “exemplary service with the dealership”.

Tom Hedges, dealer principal, said: “I would like to extend a huge thanks to Paul and Nick for their years of loyal service.

“They are real assets to the team and in an industry used to so much change, their loyalty and contribution to the success of the dealership has been invaluable.”
