A TALENTED Halesowen ballerina has been picked from thousands of applicants to take part in a prestigious Royal Ballet programme.

Chloe Howarth, who is a passionate about dance after starting ballet four years ago, will join the senior associate programme at the Birmingham Royal Ballet studios in September.

Proud mum Tracey, of Cavendish Road, hopes it will give the Earls High School pupil a step up when it comes to auditioning for a full-time place at a vocational school.

She said: “This is a huge achievement and she is very lucky to have this rare opportunity.

“Chloe is absolutely over the moon.”

The 14-year-old is a member of the Siobhan McCarthy Collins Dance Academy, Harborne.

She is also a senior associate at the Elmhurst School of Dance, Birmingham, and at the Ballet Theatre UK.

Last month, Chloe showed off her talent performing in Snow White at the city’s Crescent Theatre with the Midland Theatre Ballet.
