TALENTED Halesowen College students will be taking off the biggest stars in music in a brand new music festival this May.

The college is launching the brand new Mayfly Festival to showcase students’ musical talent on Friday, May 15 at Old Halesonians Rugby Club in Wassell Grove.

The music starts at 6pm and headlines acts are tributes to Jamiroquai, The Specials, The Beatles, Def Leppard, Stereophonics, Thin Lizzy, The 1975, Duran Duran, Rod Stewart and Fleetwood Mac.

Steve McCarthy, organiser and music lecturer, said: “This festival is brand new and a great way to showcase our talented musicians.

“Students will be playing to invited guests and it will give them a chance to build their skills and confidence by playing in front of a live audience.”
