A DUDLEY man was kidnapped at knifepoint by two men who claimed they wanted to buy his car.

The duo met the 26-year-old man at his Dudley home at 10.40am on Monday (May 25) after seeing his Audi for sale online.

But after asking to take the A5 for a test drive, they pulled onto the car park of a pub on Dibdale Road and threatened him with a knife.

The man’s hands were tied and a bag was placed over his head before he was driven a short distance and transferred to a silver Nissan Micra near Aintree Way.

He was then driven in the car, which had the registration number EY5 2UDE, to Brasshouse Lane in Smethwick, where he was released.

The Audi was later recovered from a car park in Moseley at the junction of Wake Green Road and Yardley Wood Road and will now be examined by forensic experts.

Suspects have been described by the victim as Asian men in their mid-twenties.

One was tall and slim, had stubble and was wearing glasses with thick black frames.

The second had short gelled hair and a patchy beard.

Detective Sergeant Leighton Shingles said: "The violence shown by the two men has left the victim shaken but thankfully not seriously injured.

"Investigations lead us to believe that the Micra was running on plates cloned from a legitimate vehicle from Kent, which has been eliminated from the investigation.

"Therefore we’d ask anyone who saw a Micra, or a white A5 Audi to call detectives."

Anyone with information should contact officers from the force’s Criminal Investigation Department by calling 101.
