A BIG-HEARTED charity fundraiser from Halesowen has organised an evening of live music in Birmingham in August to raise funds for UK charity Shine.

Artists including Demi Marriner, DJ Lucy Loveheart and newly formed duo Stacy and Andy will take to the stage at the Actress and Bishop

on Saturday, August 1, as part of the fundraiser, organised by James Weavin.

All profits from ticket sales will be donated to the charity which supports people and families affected by Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.

James Weavin, who organised the event with his wife Ashleigh, has suffered from Hydrocephalus from birth.

He decided to raise money for the charity after being hospitalized from an infection he caught during an operation to remove cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from his brain.

He said: “Shine do such a great job, their support for people affected by these conditions is integral for so many people to be able to lead a normal life.

"This night is all about continuing that support and raising some awareness around these conditions that are often overlooked”.

Louise Woodley, from the Actress and Bishop said: “We love charity gigs here at The Actress and Bishop and as Saturday is our busiest night so we’re sure to have a great audience”.

Demi Marriner, artist and songwriter said: “I’ve played a few charity gigs and if I can help raise some awareness and money for Shine, by doing what I love, nothing beats that”.

Tickets to the event can be purchased on James’ JustGiving page with a suggested donation of £5 www.justgiving.com/summershine.
