AN ancient custom will be relived in an armchair tour by Cradley historian Margaret Bradley.

It was traditional for people to 'beat the bounds' of their community in May by walking around the different boundary markers and beating them with branches of trees.

Mrs Bradley is going to observe the ritual by taking people on an armchair trip around the boundaries of Cradley in a talk to be given on Thursday May 12 at 7.30 pm.

It will include lots of pictures, old and new, of places on the borders.

There is no charge for the event which will be held at Overend Methodist Mission, Banner's Lane, and all are welcome.
