CHILDREN can enjoy a range of activities across five Dudley borough parks with the return of play week.

Youngsters can take part in group games, sports, den building, climbing wall and crafts.

There will also be a baby zone, sumo wrestling, assault courses, skittles, tug of war, glass painting and stalls.

Most of the activities on offer are free of charge.

The week kicks off at Huntingtree Park, Halesowen, on Monday (August 1).

Coseley's Silver Jubilee will host an event on Tuesday (August 2) and Wednesday’s (August 3) event will be at Mary Steven’s Park in Stourbridge.

Dudley's Priory Park will be a hive of activity on Thursday (August 4) and the week will conclude on Friday (August 5) at The Dell, Brockmoor.

Each event starts at 12noon and finishes at 4pm.

Councillor Ian Cooper, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “Play week is always hugely popular and sees thousands of children and families come along to enjoy the activities on offer and the open spaces.

"It’s a great way for children to enjoy traditional activities, learn new skills, make friends and most importantly have fun.”

A basic registration form must be completed at each park to join in the fun.

Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
