THE streets were paved with gold at the Oldbury Rep when the Dick Whittington pantomime charity collection raised over £700.
Charity Options for Life was the chosen good cause this year to benefit from the generosity of audiences attending this year’s production.
The panto ran for ten performances at the Barlow Theatre, Langley, the home of Oldbury Rep and the final performance was on Saturday, January 14 and played to 95 per cent of capacity.
This year’s chosen charity, Options for Life, is a not for profit charitable business providing a range of innovative opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
An Oldbury Rep spokesman said: "A local charity, they support people with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full and advance their personal development, enabling them to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as non-disabled people.
"The company is pleased to be able to support both local and national charities throughout the year, thanks to the continued generosity of its audiences, even in these continuing difficult financial times."
