A GROUNDBREAKING event which aims to promote physical health and mental well-being through gardening is being held in Cradley.

A host of experts and celebrities will be attending Gardening For Health is on Saturday, March 4, between 9.30am and 1.40pm at Wilson Hall, Colley Gate.

Gardening tips and health advice will be on offer from gardening experts, health professionals and guest presenters include Darren Rudge from BBC Radio WM and Mick Poultney.

Mr Poultney said: “I travel around the country regularly throughout the year, to gardening shows and events to judge vegetables that other people produce.

“I am very proud to be part of the Colley Gate and Cradley gardening community and always mention this to the people I meet.”

“Gardening For Health will help people who want to find out how they can become more physically active by any kind of gardening activity.

"It’s an opportunity for all those who want to grow stuff, but feel unable to get started.

“You don’t have to be green fingered or super fit and you can achieve results with a little know how and patient friendly advice. 

At the event professional health advisers will explain benefits to both physical and mental health that gardening has to offer for everyone."
