DAREDEVILS will be hot-footing it across burning coals to raise money for two good causes.

A charity fire walk will be held at the Black Country Living Museum on April 20 from 6.30pm.

Fearless fundraisers can either sign up to raise cash for Acorns Children's Hospice or pull in the pounds to help the museum create a new classroom for youngsters with special educational needs and disabilities.

After the event, fire walkers can celebrate their achievements with exclusive access to the Tipton Road museum at night, enjoying a refreshing a pint, entertainment and traditional fish and chips.

Lynda Hadley, events co-ordinator for Acorns, said the charity relied on events like this to help raise the majority of the £10million needed to provide care to children with life-limiting and threatening illnesses.

She added: “Walking over fire is without doubt one of the most thrilling and extreme things you can do. Whilst it’ll be seriously scary stuff, professionals will be on hand to make sure everyone has the best possible time."

Katy Price, the museum's development manager, added: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Acorns to hold this charity fire walk at the museum.

"We hope that lots of people will rise to the challenge and support the amazing work that Acorns do.

“The museum is also a registered charity and our supporters will be taking part to help raise funds for a new classroom in St James’ School for children with special educational needs and disabilities.”

The fire walk costs £35 per person, with a minimum sponsorship of £100.
