A BELOVED 'gentleman', who was killed in a tragic crash on Romsley Hill, has been honoured in a touching tribute by his family.

Barnt Green father-of-two Ross Fawthrop was cycling past the Swallow's Nest pub on the morning of Thursday, June 15, when two cars collided and subsequently crashed with his bike.

Paramedics arrived on scene within eight minutes, alongside an air ambulance, but 'considerable treatment' was not enough to save Mr Fawthrop, whose injuries were described as 'significant'.

His wife Lynda and two sons Mark and Matt are said to be in 'incomprehensible shock' from the loss of a devoted husband, father, son brother and friend, who was taken too soon.

They described him as 'totally honest' and 'full of integrity' with a 'cheeky sense of humour'.

An accomplished cyclist, Mr Fawthrop had recently retired from a career in project engineering.

West Mercia Police is still appealing for witnesses to come forward, and are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw the manner in which a silver Vauxhall Corsa and silver Ford Transit were being driven in the area at around 7.40am that day.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 99s of June 15.
