PARENTS and carers across Sandwell can now apply for secondary school places if their child is due to move to secondary school in September 2018.
Schools in the borough are holding a number of open evenings to help parents and children choose the best school for them.
Parents can also find a list of school open events they can attend to help them choose the right secondary school.
Applications, which are not on a first come, first served basis, can be made until Tuesday, October 31, online at www.sandwell.gov.uk/schooladmissions.
Councillor Simon Hackett, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for children's services, said: “We have over 4,000 places available in our 17 secondary schools and academies and have a good record of giving parents their top preferences.
“I urge parents and carers to go along to open days and evenings to help them choose the right school for their children.”
Applications for reception and junior school places (Year 3) open on Monday, September 18.
