DELIGHTED volunteers at Hasbury Community Centre were presented with their new kitchen from Rotary members who helped fund it.

The Rotary Club of Halesowen and Rowley Regis formally handed over the facilities at the centre based in Wall Well.

Last year, Hasbury Community Association was handed a cheque for £500 from Rotary which went towards funding the fitting of the new kitchen.

Ian Cooper, Hasbury Community Association Chairman, said: “I want to thank Rotary for their generosity in paying for the kitchen and for it to be fitted.

“I also want to thank Blackheath Products Limited for keeping costs as low as possible and Geoff Hill Limited for donations and discounts of fridge, microwave and portable water heater.

“The kitchen is not recognisable from the one volunteers inherited when they took over the running of the centre two years ago and feedback from visitors and users is very positive.”

Rotary President John Cartwright said: “We were delighted to support Hasbury Community Centre in this way and pleased to hear that the new kitchen is proving so helpful in attracting new users of the Centre.

“We must congratulate volunteers on their hard work in keeping the centre open for the community to use.”
