A MAN was taken to hospital after the first of two crashes on a busy borough road this morning (Tuesday).
Paramedics were called to the junction of Birmingham New Road and Ivyhouse Lane at 10.09am to reports that two light goods vehicles had collided.
A 65-year-old man, who was driving one of the vehicles, was taken to Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital with a minor wrist injury and chest pain.
The other driver, a man in his 70s, complained of lower back pain but was discharged at the scene.
Less than an hour later, at 10.54am, there was another crash involving a car and a truck, at the junction of Birmingham New Road and Sedgley Road West.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said that although paramedics were called, there were no patients to treat at the scene.
However there are reports of slow traffic as one lane of the road is blocked heading towards Tipton.
