CHILDREN who complete a bat-themed Halloween trail in Brierley Hill this half term could win tickets to the Himley fireworks display.

The free trail, which can be picked up from Brierley Hill Library between October 21 and 29, will lead families around the town centre in search of the furry friends

Youngsters who solve the clues can put their completed form into a prize draw at the library and the winner will get a family ticket for Himley on November 4, plus free parking.

The library will also be hosting Halloween-themed throughout the school holidays.

The Halloween fun will continue on Saturday, October 28, as Brierley Hill Indoor Market will have a face painter, a horror-themed market stall and spooky characters handing out sweets.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “This is a fun, free half-term pursuit that will encourage children to get outside while following the clues, exercising both body and mind.

“I would like to thank the traders in Brierley Hill who have, yet again, got into the spirit of things and helped to create a family activity in the town centre.

"Indeed, while following the trail, I would urge adults who are accompanying any children to pop into the shops and support their local high street.”

The clue sheet will also be available to download at www.discoverdudley.org.uk.
