MORE than 1,000 years of continuous service have been celebrated by staff at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.

The ‘Long Service Awards’, presented by director of HR Andrew McMenemy, shone the spotlight on staff who have reached the key milestones of 25 and 40 years’ service.

Staff were presented with a long service certificate and badge by chief executive Diane Wake and chairman Jenni Ord.

Welcoming recipients and their guests, Diane said how delighted she was to be part of her first ever Long Service Awards event for staff at the trust.

Addressing a packed lecture theatre at Russells Hall Hospital, Diane said: “You have dedicated so much of your lives to being a part of the Dudley community and I’m honoured to present these awards as we are so grateful for your commitment to this organisation.”

Susan Skorka, who works in pathology, marked 40 years of service and was the longest serving member of staff at the ceremony.

“It is so great to be recognised as 40 years is such an achievement for me and the ceremony has been such an enjoyable event,” said Susan.

Debrah Plant, secretary for community dietitians, who celebrated 25 years’ service, said: “I love my job and working within the community and it is fantastic to be recognised for my length of service with the trust.”

After the awards ceremony, recipients were treated to a celebratory afternoon tea and a slice of long service cake made especially for the event.
