A CHARITABLE team of Halesowen hospital staff are gearing up to take part in a Wolf Run challenge this spring.

Employees from different departments at West Midlands Hospital are gearing up for the muddy event on Sunday, April 8, to support the mental health charity Dudley Mind.

The Wolf Run is taking place at Welsh Road Farm in Warwickshire and is a hardcore 10 kilometre combination of mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs, across raw, natural terrain, including open ground, lakes and woodland – testing physical and mental strength and stamina.

Staff taking part in the event include quality improvement manager Tania Peters, engineer Dave Watts, physiotherapy manager Helen Hunt, housekeeping team leader Julie Carter and private patient co-ordinator Kerry Williams.

Julie said: “We wanted to do something different this year to support a very worthy local cause.

“Our engineer Dave Watts has taken part in a number of Wolf Runs before and he suggested it as a fun event to take part in and raise money at the same time.

“All of us are looking forward to the event and although it’s going to be a test of stamina we hope staff at the hospital and others will support us in our fundraising quest.”

Mind is a mental health cause that helps thousands of people every year and the Colman Hill-based private hospital is supporting the local branch, Dudley Mind to help people who use the charity's services.
