A NEW £1 million community centre has opened its doors in Halesowen.
Halesowen and Dudley Yemeni Community Association have spent the last 10 years raising the cash to fund the centre in Highfield Lane.
More than 300 people attended the opening ceremony on Friday (April 13), including the Deputy Mayor of Dudley Councillor Alan Taylor and his wife Winifred, police officers, local colleges and schools and other faith leaders.
Marwan Bakaili, chairman of the association, said: "We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this building and everyone who volunteered to making this event happen.
"We have some fantastic facilities to serve the local community."
