THERE will be even more road closure misery for Halesowen residents after an extension was granted to work being carried out on Lapal Lane North.

The closure will now be in place until May 29, with a Dudley Council spokesman blaming ‘technical reasons’ for the extended time frame.

A contractor working for South Staffs Water told the council: “We propose this due to not being able to isolate the water on Lapel Lane North in order for us to do a connection onto Manor Lane, because during the test shut there was very low pressure on the estate it feeds.

“Therefore we have resorted to using a under pressure clip to eliminate the issue of customers being affected.

“There is a lead time on getting this fitting until next week.”

Diversions for motorists will take in Manor Lane, Carters Lane, Manor Abbey Road, Longlands Road and vice-versa.
