A PENSNETT voluntary group has been awarded £8,640 to run a children’s play scheme throughout the summer holidays.
Fens Pool Voluntary Association has been handed the money through BBC’s Children in Need to fund the placement scheme each weekday until August 31.
Running from 9.30am until 12.30pm and again from 1.30pm until 3.30pm, at Fens Pool Community Centre, off Tennyson Street, daily activities include arts and craft sessions, workshops, snooker and computer games.
The money will also help fund day trips and visits and volunteers are working alongside neighbourhood PCSO’s, who will be organising outdoor activities on the centre’s multi-use games area.
All children are welcome to attend, although under eights must be accompanied by an adult.
The cost is £1 per day and youngsters are welcome to stop over the dinner break if they take a packed lunch.
For more information contact the centre on 01384 571464.
