WITH money still coming in, Worcester, Bosch Group has announced it raised over £40,000 during its golden anniversary year for five local charities.

They were St Richards Hospice, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Worcestershire Parent and Carers Council (WPCC), Murray’s Muscles and Valley Christians in Developing Societies (CIDS).

Each will receive a share of the money raised by the company throughout 2012, after it pledged to fund-raise and donate 50 “work” days to the help the charities, all as part of Worcester’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Kicking off the fund-raising, over £6,300 of the total was raised by two of the company’s employees as they ran the 50-mile Malvern Ultra. Managing director Carl Arntzen and customer services director Shaun Mansbridge took part in the gruelling task to raise money for St Richards Hospice.

It also sponsored the Walk of Worcestershire, held last July, with all proceeds going to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Donating much-needed time as well as money, the 50 days of Charity project saw Worcester’s employees swap their normal place of work to help paint the facilities of Acorns Children’s Hospice and Sight Concern, de-rust and repaint at Severn Valley Railway and build local wildlife areas.

Mr Arntzen said: “Local charities are a vital part of our community and it is wonderful that we were able to use our 50th anniversary in 2012 as a way of giving them a helping hand.

“Getting involved with such worthy causes and knowing we have been able to make a real difference, either in time or monetary terms, has been fantastic for all involved.”
