STUDENTS of Bishop Perowne CE College, Worcester, have reached the Young Enterprise Worcestershire final to be held at County Hall, today.

Over the past nine months, the 21 budding entrepreneurs, whose company is called Prestige, have sold home-made friendship bracelets and laser-cut tea light holders at trade fairs, local primary schools and to fellow students.

So far, the students have made a profit of £1,600 during the competition and Prestige is currently worth £835.

All of the prize money received by the students on their way to the final has been donated to St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester.

Prestige received a double boost at the South Worcestershire area regional finals, held at King’s School, Worcester, as Bishop Perowne’s Young Enterprise teacher Clare Morris was awarded the link teacher prize.

Bishop Perowne headteacher, Julie Farr, said: “We greatly value the achievements of our students, which are a measure of their outstanding teamwork, diligence and motivation. They are excellent role models for our other students.”
