GLYNN Jones, deputy regional agent of The Bank of England, was the first speaker at the inaugural meeting of Halesowen Business Breakfast Club, held at the Talbot Inn in Belbroughton.

He spoke about the economy, followed by questions from the floor. He also took along some of the proposed new polymer bank notes, which guests had the opportunity to handle and comment on.

The Business Breakfast Club is one of a number of business networking events arranged by Events With the Edge of Stourbridge and the new Halesowen meeting is sponsored by local companies, Thursfields Solicitors, Nicklins Chartered Accountants and Lloyds Bank Business Centre in Stourbridge.

Jilly Edge of Events With The Edge said: “There is no doubt that giving people the opportunity to meet face to face is incredibly popular. We filled the room and actually had to turn some people away.

"Good networking is about building relationships in a relaxed environment and that’s what we strive for at all our networking events. We also take pride that we have a diverse group of speakers to address the assembled company plus a great breakfast of course.”

The next meeting of the Business Breakfast Club is on Tuesday, April 29 at The Talbot, Belbroughton. The speaker isJo Sunderland of The Prince’s Trust.
