STAFF at law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys have been donating items of clothing in support of the Daisychain Benevolent Fund Trust.

The not-for-profit organisation, which has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, funds projects within children’s hospital wards located near to its 13 shops.

The trust’s nominated causes include wards such as The Riverbank Children's Ward at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, as well as national charity, The Teenage Cancer Trust, which helps support young adults living with cancer across the UK.

Angela Manganiello, area retail manager of Daisychain Benevolent Fund, said: “As a charity we rely greatly on the monies raised through our chain of charity shops. We are always in need of regular donations of good quality clothing, accessories, bric a brac and books to sell in our shops.

"This is why we are so grateful to the staff at Harrison Clark Rickerbys for their generous donations.”

Davina Roberts, joint founder and head of retail operations at Daisychain Benevolent Fund, said: “Since our first shop opened in Worcester in 2003, we have always endeavoured to make a real difference to the lives of people in our communities, who find themselves experiencing a life-threatening and/or emotional period in their lives.

"Since it was founded, the trust has raised and donated over £1 million and we’re really determined to reach our next target. In the future we hope to be able to help our nominated causes to the tune of £1 million every year.”

Caroline Irvine, partner and head of Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ residential property team, which has headed up the clothes appeal, said: “We are delighted with the positive response we have had from staff in just over a month of collecting for the Daisychain Benevolent Fund.

"We have, so far, collected over five large bags of clothes to be sold in the local charity shops and will continue collecting throughout 2014.”

Ms Irvine continued: “The aim of the trust to preserve health and relieve sickness in the community is really commendable and this is why we are so keen to support this worthy cause.

"As a firm with our heart in the Three Counties, we are pleased to support the trust and help give back to the communities of Worcester, Hereford, Cheltenham and Ross-on-Wye, in which we operate.”
