A HALESOWEN-based company which produces chemicals and adhesives for the construction industry has been awarded re-certification of ISO 14001:2004 and the continuation of OHSAS 18001:2007 & ISO 9001:2008.

It follows a second year combined audit of its Integrated Management System (IMS). The Integrated Management System has been instrumental in the continuous drive to constantly improve, enhance and accelerate Mapei UK’s performance across all areas of the business, supporting a holistic approach, which was visible to the external auditors.

The audit highlighted several key strengths, including strength in the introduction of new products, synergy between sales/production and logistics, vigour of the management review process and control, update and implementation of health and safety legislation. Particular reference was also made to the specification of the company’s green products through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentations and with the support of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Pete Dube, Mapei UK’s quality manager, said|: “Everything we have done through the Integrated Management System (IMS) has been visible throughout the growth of the business - in terms of turnover and market share, as well as our customer satisfaction - and our on-time, in-full delivery record exceeds 99 per cent, which is a world-class performance rate.

"The re-certification of ISO 14001:2004 collaborates Mapei UK’s unremitting drive to improve and succeed and we will continue to show this in years to come."
