A NEWLY built £1.5million industrial development in Kingswinford has welcomed its first tenant.

Progress Point, a 21,000 sq ft warehouse on Pensnett Trading Estate off Dudley Road, will be the new home of Map Concrete Pumping Ltd after the firm signed a five-year lease.

The family-run business hires high-pressure and high-output concrete pumping machines to the construction sector.

Mark Phillips, director, said growth in business had necessitated the move from its existing premises in Sedgley.

He said: “We’ve been in business for more than eight years and we have expanded our fleet over the past 18 months, which meant we had to find a new headquarters to accommodate it.

“We were very impressed when we saw the quality of the build and the specification at Progress Point and had no hesitation in signing a five-year lease. It heralds an exciting new chapter for the business.

“This has enabled us to expand our fleet of lorries and also take on an additional two drivers to cope with demand.”

Pensnett estate, comprised of about 2.3 million sq ft of industrial space, is owned and managed by London & Cambridge Properties (LCP).

Paula James, sales negotiator at LCP, said: “We are pleased to welcome Map Concrete Pumping Ltd to Progress Point and are delighted that this high quality development has attracted its first tenant.

“We are speaking to a number of businesses that have expressed an interest in the remaining units and hope to announce further tenants in the near future.”
