NOMINATIONS to become a governor for the Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are now open.

If you are a member of the trust you can stand in the elections to become a governor in Sandwell, Dudley and Walsall, but you need to get your nomination form in by noon on Friday, May 24.

Governors represent the interests of foundation trust members, the patients, staff and the wider public, making sure their views are listened to in shaping services to suit the needs of local people and communities.

Anyone can stand as a governor providing they are a member of the trust and are aged over 16 years of age on the date they are nominated for election or appointment.

The role is voluntary and governors receive reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred, such as travelling costs, whilst undertaking their duties.

As a governor you will receive support and training to make sure you have the confidence and skills, as well as the right information and knowledge to undertake your role in the effective governance of the Trust.

Once nominations are received, voting papers will go out to all member of the trust on June 13. Voting closes on Wednesday, July 3.
