A DUDLEY disability group is celebrating after receiving a cash boost from a Merry Hill supermarket.

Over the last few weeks shoppers at Asda have been asked to vote for their favourite charities using green tokens given out at the till - with Dudley CIL (Centre for Inclusive Living) one of the choices.

The group, which offers free support to people living with disabilities in the borough, was founded by Dudley couple, Ken and Tracey McClymont in 2010 and the pair visited the store to claim their windfall after the coins were converted into £50 cash.

The money has enabled volunteers to organise an information day so people can find out more about the work they do.

The event will take place on Wednesday, December 5 at Brierley Hill Methodist Church, Bank Street between 12pm - 4pm and is open to people with disabilities, carers, volunteers and those who support disabled residents in the borough.

During the session a number of volunteers will be on hand to talk about available services over free tea and cake.

Tracy McClymont, Secretary for Dudley CIL said, “We are looking forward to meeting and working with our colleagues across the borough to try to make life a bit better for our fellow disabled citizens and are delighted that Asda has given us a helping hand to do this”.
