KINGSWINFORD shoppers have been helping boost primary school coffers by voting on how a £3,000 charity pot should be shared.
Customers at the Midcounties Co-op in Kingswinford High Street took part in the store's Community Choices programme dropping tokens into a ballot box in the shop.
Glynne Primary School was awarded £1,200, the highest share of the fund, whilst St Mary’s CE School, Dawley Brook Primary School and Blanford Mere Primary School received £900, £600 and £300 respectively.
Victoria Saunders, assistant head teacher, said: “We are delighted that the community have kindly supported the Glynne and after a very successful OfSted report this is the icing on the cake.
“We anticipate spending the money on outdoor learning for Key Stage 1.”
Simon said: “It is great to be able to help such worthy schools in the area. The campaign proved to be a great way to get the local community involved and especially with matters that are important to them."
