History society kicks off new season

STOURBRIDGE Historical Society is kicking off its 67th season this week.

Speaker Chris Sutton from Birmingham, who has published a book on the history of VCs in Sandwell, will be giving a talk on Thursday January 17 entitled 'Enemy Overhead: the Zeppelin Raids over the Midlands: 1914-18 War'.

It will be held in the Amblecote Room, at Stourbridge Town Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

Visitors are welcome. Admission is £2.

The next event on Thursday February 21 will see Dr Gillian White giving an illustrated talk on ‘Chatsworth and the Cavendish Family 1550-1850’.
