THE heavy snow which is falling across The Black Country is affecting a number of services around the region.

Dudley Council teams have been working throughout the night to keep roads clear and operations will be continuing during the day to keep traffic moving.

The Crystal, Halesowen and Dudley leisure centres and Dell Staduim are all closed today (Friday). For information on weekend opening call 01384 812800.

Many school children look set for an unexpected day off.

Ridgewood High School will be closed from 11.30am

Summerhill School - The school intend to run the year 11 GCSE RE exam this afternoon - final decision by 11am. An update will appear at http://www.summerhill.dudley.sch.uk/

Wordsley School (closed from 10.45am)

 

Special schools: Brier School, Halesbury School, Old Park Special School, Pensmeadow School, Rosewood School, Sutton School, Woodsetton School.

Short Stay Schools: Cherry Tree Learning Centre (staff attend as normal), Mere Primary Short Stay School (staff attend as normal),Sycamore Secondary Short Stay School - both Abberley and Sycamore sites (staff attend as normal).

Haybridge High School in Hagley and Hagley RC School are also closed.

Dudley Council day centres are open but council run transport services to them have been suspended.

Dudley Council waste collection services are running where safe to do so.

The household waste and recycling centre in Birmingham Street, Stourbridge, is closed from 1pm today (Friday). Call 0300 555 2345 for more information over the weekend. 

Dudley Council libraries are closed from 1pm today (Friday).

The ballroom dancing session at Dudley Town Hall scheduled for Saturday January 19  has been cancelled.

 

Dudley Museum and Art Gallery, Broadfield House Glass Museum and the Red House Glass Cone are open today (Friday). Call your local museum over the weekend before setting off over the weekend or visit the website
