Mayor and Mayoress celebrate Chinese New Year

The Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley - councillor Melvyn Motrram and his wife Michelle - with youngsters - Bonnie Hadley, Emily-Rose Russell, Ruby Phipps, Charlotte Yates, Anise Faisal, Georgina Sambidge, Georgia Tandy and Kainat Faisal.
THE Mayor and Mayoress of Dudley turned joined in the fun at a Quarry Bank party organised to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Dudley councillor Melvyn Mottram and his wife Michelle were guests of honour at the free family event held at Quarry Bank Community Centre in Sheffield Street on Sunday February 3.
Games, refreshments and activities for children were laid on at the bash - organised to mark the start of the year of the snake ahead of the official Chinese New Year’s Day which falls on Sunday February 10 this year.
The event also offered Quarry Bank residents chance to find out more about ambitious plans to revamp the community centre.
Community centre chairman John Lines said: “A great time was had by all.”
