Merry Hill's Mummy Mornings mark five years

MEMBERS of Merry Hill’s Mummy Morning club went animal crackers to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

The free club, which takes place every Tuesday at 10am in Eat Central now boasts over 2,500 members and is thought to be the largest active network of parents in the Midlands.

To mark the milestone, the group which is not just exclusively for mums, but also dads, grandparents and carers, held an animal crackers themed party, with many of the 200 children dressed in animal costumes.

Kelly Reed, Westfield Merry Hill marketing manager, said: “The party was brilliant and it was really lovely to see so many parents come together to celebrate this important milestone. We had many of our founding members there, including children who we first met as newborn babies and are now lively school children.

“Mummy Mornings began as a simple scheme to attract families into the shopping centre with the offer of free tea and coffee, activities for the kids and somewhere safe and warm to meet other mums.

“Over the last five years the club has evolved to become a vibrant community in its own right, bringing together parents from across the region for friendship, support and fun every week.”
