Advisers will make Merry Hill fun for families

A WOMBOURNE family have secured a job at Merry Hill and will be paid in donuts, cinema trips and receive their very own parking space.
David and Caroline Painter and their children Jessie, aged five, Eve, aged eight, Jude, aged nine beat off stiff competition to be named as the Brierley Hill shopping centre’s Family Panel.
They will advise management on how the centre could be made more fun for families and in return they will receive a host of goodies throughout the year including a £300 gift card, a meal out every season, unlimited access to attractions such as the cinema and Quest, Krispy Kremes on their birthdays and a VIP parking space.
Mrs Painter said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been appointed – we know the competition was fierce and with the fantastic salary we’re not surprised. We can’t wait to get started and have our say on all things family at the centre.”
In the 12-month position, the family will influence decisions including which children’s characters will visit the centre and who will switch on the Christmas lights.
Kelly Reed, senior marketing manager at the centre said the family’s 150 word application, with an emphasis on the importance of family time had impressed her and added: “We couldn't be more excited to welcome the Painters aboard the centre management team.”
