People urged to get a free blood pressure check at borough libraries
5:00pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in Local
PEOPLE are urged to pop into borough libraries for a free pressure check during September.
September is blood pressure month and health trainers at Dudley and Stourbridge Libraries will be offering support and information on how to make healthy lifestyle changes.
Blood pressure sessions will be at Dudley Library on Mondays throughout the month from 2 to 4pm and on Tuesday 17 and 24 from 10am to noon.
The health trainers will also be at Stourbridge Library on Wednesday 18 and 25 from 10am to noon.
The health trainers will advise people what to do next if their blood pressure is high or low.
Councillor Stuart Turner, Dudley cabinet member responsible for libraries, said: “The borough’s libraries are keen to do all they can to support health trainers and provide local people with an easy way of getting their blood pressure checked without the need for an appointment at their surgery. This is open to anyone of any age so I would encourage anyone who feels they would benefit to come along.”
For more information call 01384 913133 or go to www.healthexchange.org.uk. No appointment necessary.
