A YOUNG Stourbridge filmmaker has won more praise for her award-winning short film promoting the importance of being a registered organ donor.
Holly Wilkinson, aged 22, a University of Worcester film production graduate, won the Best Craft award for her film The Gift of Life in the national Organ Donation Through A Lens short film competition run by NHS Blood and Transplant to promote the importance of signing up to the national NHS Organ Donor Register.
Impressed by her work and efforts to encourage people to become organ donors, deputy leader of Dudley Council, Councillor Pete Lowe, presented Holly with a certificate of commendation at a civic reception at Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital today (Tuesday October 15).
Cllr Lowe said: “I have said many times we have a wealth of talent in Dudley borough, and I am delighted Holly has put this towards such an important issue.
“As a community council we are working hard to encourage people to think about becoming organ donors, and urging people across the borough to consider the difference it can make to people’s lives.”
