BELBROUGHTON will once again be hosting its seasonal sing-a-long fundraiser to help raise money for rescued horses and ponies.
The village's annual Carols on the Green event, in aid of Belbroughton's Animal Sanctuary and Protection, will take place on Sunday December 15 at 4pm.
Some of the sanctuary's resident donkeys and ponies will join carol singers for the candle-lit sing song on the village green, off Belbroughton High Street.
Money collected at the festive fundraiser will go towards providing winter feed and bedding for the sanctuary animals.
This year's service will no doubt be tinged with poignancy as it will be the first following the death of sanctuary founder Anthea Frisby - who lost her battle with cancer in September after dedicating her life to taking in old, unwanted and ill-treated horses, ponies and donkeys.
Everyone is welcome to attend the half-hour service which will see mince pies available afterwards.
Anyone unable to attend but wishing to make a Christmas donation to the sanctuary, which dedicated volunteers are continuing to run in memory of Anthea, can send cheques payable to ASAP Belbroughton to Church Farm, Bradford Lane, Belbroughton, DY9 9TF.
